Who is a Soul Winner?

The greatest artist in the world is the soul winner.

Jesus Christ was the greatest soul winner that this world has ever known.  And this same Jesus said in John 4:19, "Follow Me, and I will make you a fisher of men."  Yet probably the next greatest soul winner this world has ever known is the devil.  The Bible says in Matthew 10:16, "Be ye therefore wise as serpents."

The devil is a great soul winner.  He is a great artist.  One of the definitions of art is:  sometimes it is a form of tricks, wile, craft or deception.  The devil paints beautiful pictures.  Have you ever had an artist paint your picture, or watched as he worked and did one for someone else?  Yet some artists are also cartoonists.

How does the devil win souls?  He does this by his wisdom, deception, and the power of suggestion.  He wins souls by hook and crook.  He shows one someone else who is seemingly having a good time by gambling, cursing, smoking, cheating, lying and speeding.  He suggests through the souls that he has already won, "Be a he-man; have fun; get with it; make some quick money; everyone is doing it; take one drink, it won't hurt you."  Yet he's setting a trap.  He is after men, women, boys and girls to win them over into his camp.

Every death caused by speeding, smoking, drinking, drugs, abortion, adultery -- the devil won these souls by his wisdom.  Every pornographic piece of literature is the devil's art.  Every time that there is a movie, TV film, or video where there is a killing, or a suggestion of illicit sex, the devil is on a soul-winning mission.  Hell is populated with millions of souls who have been won by devils.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:19, "Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men."  The Bible says in Proverbs 11:30, "He that winneth souls is wise."  Are we -- our church -- are we as a family -- are we -- am I winning souls?  I know the devils are winning them.  Jesus said, "Be wise as demons."

The Bible says in Daniel 12:3, "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever."

Use every means available:  TV, radio, tracts, tapes, videos, door-to-door witnessing.  Go to the waters that have not been fished in so many times.  Go to a mission field.

Church is not the place to win souls.  The fish are with the other fish -- in the waters, not on the land.  The wheat is in the field, not in the barns.  Jesus said in Luke 14:23, "And the Lord said unto the servant, go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that My house may be filled."

Our Lord's heart must ache when we are not as wise as serpents. They are winning souls every day.
